About Our Jewelry
Many of our designs have been inspired by displays at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the Greek and Roman section. We are also integrating contemporary East Indian and Indonesia elements into our jewelry that are creating a cross-cultural synthesis of the old and the new. While much of our work is done is high karat gold, we also work in silver.
About the Stones
Traditionally, stones have been considered to be imbued with certain qualities of healing, energy and power. We embrace those concepts, but also feel that the stones that YOU are most drawn to are the stones that are going to be the most beneficial. We work with all kinds of natural stones: sapphires, tourmalines, emeralds, rubies, turquoise, amythest, diamonds, opals ... pretty much anything that comes out of the ground. We also work extensively with pearls and certain types of shells.
The Gold
Since the beginning of time, jewelry has been worn to express beauty, power and prestige, and the ultimate express of that has often been in gold. Much of our work is done in 22K, using the one-lost process of granulation that fuses tiny granules of 22K karat gold into intricate patterns. We start with .9999 (known as "four nines") gold, which is not necessary for the fusing process of the granulation, but follows the technique used by the ancients. We then alloy the gold ourselves and fabricate each individual piece of jewelry.
